Manufactured by Exosens (formerly Photonis), ECHO is an 18 mm 10160-style, three-contact EGAC format image intensifier tube available with P43 green phosphor or P45 white phosphor.

External gain control (EGAC) is supplied as standard and is configured for a 180 kΩ control circuit.

Tube format and gain control

This is an 18 mm 10160-style tube with three contact pads. The centre contact provides external gain control through a 180 kΩ EGAC circuit when used in a compatible three-contact device.

It can also be installed in a compatible standard two-contact device. In that configuration, the centre contact remains unconnected and the tube operates without user-adjustable manual gain, using its automatic brightness-control functions.
